Address before photos: reading a holiday home location in Gallura

A famous place name or attractive photograph does not show exactly where a home is. Before booking, check its precise area, distances to places you plan to use, and ask for confirmation of access and nearby services.

A destination name is not an address

Gallura and Costa Smeralda include different localities, and a listing name may refer to a broad area. Arzachena includes an inland town and coastal places; Porto Cervo is one locality in the municipality, not a substitute for every address in the area. Ask for a street or precise zone and check that it matches the map.

If the full address is shared only after booking for security, ask for a verifiable area, the locality name and a description of the access point. Do not treat an approximate pin as the exact position: ask the host what area or distance it represents.

Use photos for context, not measurement

Photographs show rooms and scenery from selected angles. A sea view does not prove that the home is on the coast or that a beach is walkable. Treat recognisable details as clues only and ask whether an image shows the property, a shared space or a nearby place.

Compare the description with a map and official destination information. Do not estimate distance from a photo's perspective or the property's name. If proximity to the sea, town centre or a service matters, ask for the distance and a realistic way to reach it: on foot, by car or using a connection that you must verify.

Check access and everyday needs

A straight-line distance says nothing about hills, roads, pavements or transport links. Plan an actual route to the places you expect to visit and check how to travel using your intended mode. Do not assume a bus stop is nearby, that a service runs on your dates or that every beach can be reached without a car.

Make a short list of needs that affect the decision: groceries, restaurants, accessibility, parking or transfers. Ask whether these services are really available at the property and check current operator information. Home equipment and neighbourhood facilities are separate facts; keep them separate when comparing listings.

Compare location with your itinerary

Mark the home, arrival point and two or three priority destinations on a map. Check routes under the conditions in which you will travel and consider how often you will repeat them. A location convenient for beach days may be less practical for inland visits, and the reverse is also true. The right choice depends on your itinerary, not a universal ranking of places.

The homes on this site are in Arzachena and Pantogia, near Porto Cervo; they are not on islands and are not automatically within walking distance of beaches. Check each property page and ask about the details that matter to your plans. This lets you compare actual location, transport and itinerary instead of booking from photographs alone.

Frequently asked questions

Does a Costa Smeralda listing mean the home is in Porto Cervo?

Not necessarily. Ask for the exact locality and area; the tourist label can cover a wider region.

Does a sea photo mean I can walk to the beach?

No. Ask how far the beach is from the address and check the actual route and access method.
