Three Sardinia holiday quotes: how to compare them fairly

Three quotes are comparable only when they describe the same trip: dates, nights, travellers, luggage, transport and terms. Set that basket before choosing, and separate confirmed costs from estimates.

Define one reference trip

Before opening three price pages, write a single version of the trip to send to every provider: outbound and return dates, number of nights, group size and composition, luggage, arrival airport or port, and whether you need a car. Add accommodation requirements that affect a quote, such as bedrooms or beds, accessibility and arrival arrangements. Preferences can stay flexible, but a requirement should not appear in one offer and disappear from the others.

For fixed dates, keep those dates identical. If you are exploring flexibility, make a separate comparison with the same number of nights. Do not compare a week with a shorter stay, or a room for two with accommodation for more people. Arzachena's municipal tourism page gives context about accommodation in the area; availability and features must be checked with each property.

Break down the full cost

Create a line for each part of the holiday: transport to Sardinia, transfer from the airport or station, possible car hire, accommodation and any mandatory items the provider states. Record the total for the whole group, not just a large per-person amount. If an offer excludes a bag, transfer, night or necessary option, show it as an item to add or a difference that has not yet been priced.

Quotes may include different terms for changes, cancellation, payment, deposits, fuel or car collection requirements. Copy those from the quote and applicable terms; do not assume an item is always included or excluded. If a provider has not clarified something, request an updated quote or keep the item marked uncertain. The aim is not to make a seemingly precise total by adding guesses.

Compare the logistics like for like

A transport quote arriving at a different airport must be assessed with the journey to the accommodation. For car hire, compare collection and return dates and times, a vehicle category suitable for passengers and bags, and the operator's stated rules. Geasar's page identifies car hire at Olbia Airport; it does not replace a rental quote or prove availability at every hour. If group members arrive separately, include another transfer or waiting time where relevant.

For accommodation, compare the same capacity, nights, access arrangements and payment terms. A home in a different locality can change distances and mobility needs; do not treat every location as interchangeable because it shares a regional label. Put the arrival point and accommodation address beside each quote so the final leg stays visible.

Separate facts, estimates and preferences

Mark each line confirmed, estimated or to be checked. A useful total can show a confirmed amount plus unquoted items still needing confirmation; avoid one figure that hides unknowns. As providers reply, update every option using the same method and record when you checked the terms. Prices and availability depend on dates, so a search result seen one day does not guarantee the same offer when you book.

Once quotes are comparable, apply the group's priorities. One option may cost more but reduce changes or waiting; another may offer different flexibility or terms. Do not declare a provider or location always cheaper. Choose the trade-off that suits your group and review the final summary before paying, especially names, dates, baggage, address and applicable policy.

Frequently asked questions

What information should I send to compare three offers?

Give every provider the same dates, nights, guest count, bags, arrival points, car needs and accommodation requirements. State which terms you want to compare and ask for the total for the full group. Mark anything unconfirmed as something to check instead of inventing a value.

Is it fair to compare the per-person price?

It can help show how a cost is split, but decide using the total for the same group and service. A per-person amount may hide excluded luggage, transfers, different nights or terms that are not equivalent.
