Capriccioli is a sequence of coves

Capriccioli wraps around a small granite headland, with two coves on each side according to the municipal tourism listing. This layout allows a more varied stop: you can compare different sides while staying in the same area.

The listing notes beach services and paid parking. In high season, though, several coves do not mean unlimited space or easy transfers. Ask where parking is and how much walking each chosen access requires.

Liscia Ruja has a different scale

The municipality describes Liscia Ruja as the Costa Smeralda’s largest beach, with both managed and free sections. Its greater length may give you more choice of where to settle, but does not guarantee quiet or proximity to services.

The listing notes paid parking and a walk from the bus stop. Before relying on transit, check the actual stop, walking distance and whether current departures work with your return plan.

Choose for the kind of day you want

Capriccioli may suit you if you want to compare small coves and sides of a headland. Liscia Ruja may fit a preference for a longer shore if you are prepared to walk from your chosen parking or bus stop.

If travelling with children, limited mobility or bulky gear, describe your route and confirm gradients, walkways and distances. Do not assume one beach is easier from its name, photos or managed areas alone.

Facilities are not fixed

Tourism pages describe possible facilities, but concessions, services and access can change. If you need loungers, toilets, food or a specific entrance, contact the operator before travelling and confirm for your date.

Weather can also affect which side of a headland feels comfortable, without implying safe water. Check wind and official notices locally and keep an inland alternative available if the beach does not suit conditions.

If you choose Capriccioli, specify which cove you plan to use when speaking with an operator or navigating, rather than giving only the area name. At Liscia Ruja, clarify which part of the long shore and how far it is from parking. This matters when asking about children, equipment or mobility. Capriccioli’s four coves may not share identical access; Liscia Ruja’s services may operate seasonally. Call before leaving if a ramp, toilet or rental is essential and ask about your actual date rather than relying on a general listing.

Think about what makes the day enjoyable for you. A group wanting a brief swim and variety may prefer to explore Capriccioli’s different coves if access and parking allow; a group seeking a long uninterrupted shoreline may choose Liscia Ruja, while accepting a walk from its stop. Neither name promises shade, low crowds or calm conditions. Confirm the feature that matters most, then choose one beach and a backup instead of trying to fit both into a rushed schedule.
